What a beautiful park. We visited when the trees were golden. The staff is helpful, the grounds are very nicely kept. Lovely places to walk and wander. The road is nearby but not bad.

I wanted to feel at home and the gals in the office succeeded. The grounds are lovely, the spots are level and spacious. Flickering lights made walkways easy to navigate. Ponds were beautiful. Grass was inviting. But I have never ever been in a louder campground. I may as well have slept on the highway shoulder lane. We have side walls and could not hear each other speak let alone sleep. We were placed in a spot closest to the highway when the campground is not even half full. Not good to woo people in. We were also placed adjacent to 2 trash bins that slammed shut all evening long. It felt like a major low rent district in an otherwise beautiful setting.

Advertised as ‘on the River’, it’s not the animas or even close. We were fooled thinking we could fly fish at sunset.

Maybe if you sit inside with your AC running and TV blasting this could work. But you wouldn’t want to be ‘Outdoorsy’ here. And to the very sweet pleasant young lady who kindly escorted us to our site, she should have noticed the construction horns and dust.

Maybe we are just used to being in nature. Disbursed camping wasn’t easy to find, and this did not give us the creature comforts we hoped for.

I was browsing for hotels, and i found this place. Outdoorsy tent camps is awesome. I love the way they have the place set up, the privacy, the area that it's in. It was beautiful. Durango and Pagosa were within an hour drive, big plus!. only downside is i probably wouldn't stay in it when it's 10 degrees out. The cold sneaks in the tent but definitely will stay here in the spring, summer, and fall.
