About Campground

Barton Cove specializes in rustic tent-only camping. The campground is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Each campsite has a picnic table, grills and campfire ring. Vehicle use in the campground is restricted to unloading during arrival and loading during departure. Showers are available near the ranger station, and there are two group sites available for larger parties interested in camping together. Two sites suitable for pop-up trailers or class C camper vans are also available. The sites have no utility hookups. Scout groups can camp by special arrangement through November.

Great campground. Bring your own water in, the only spicket is at the entrance. Sites are large and not very close together. No swimming at your site as all are well above the river.

First off the employees were great but the boss of this company leaves you with nothing. Even after the boss says there is work to be done, but won't call or anything. It's still nice out. I don't get why the place is even closed to begin with. Also the company, seems to just use seasonal people so they don't have to pay people all year long. There should be a massive cleanup at the end of the season. Or at least an employee check the park and Northfields area.

Just needs more work done to the place especially this year. Honestly should of done one more week when it was actually nice and not raining half the time.

Don't give your employers false hope about working though. Heard people keep waiting for a response for work but then nothing. Employees depend on that work. That phone call or text about work. Now they're left without, and have to start over with job hunting again.

Why no help afterwards? Why always seasonal?

Really just ruined families. You wrote till the 9th on Indeed. Not be without work after Labor Day. Never was mentioned until in person and then offered more work and haven't heard anything back

Shady

That place needs a deep cleaning big time

Just do good with your employees. They worked hard this season and some weren't aware it was done after Labor Day. Everyone thought up until the 9th.

Thanks

We stayed for 1 night on site 31. The site was huge, we had a camper van and a large tent, with plenty of space for chairs around the fire. The site next to us (30) was closed due to Covid spacing, so it was like we had the place to ourselves. Our site was just outside of the gate others have mentioned as being a hassle, so we lucked out, but it only seemed to be hassle if you needed it go in and out of the site frequently. All the sites seemed clean, and there was tons of sticks and branches close by for gathering firewood. Only visited the outhouse once and it was fine. No bad smells and it wasn’t dirty.

I highly recommend this campsite and I look forward to returning.

Remote rustic camp sites. It was quiet when we were there.

Reasonable fee to camp. Wood available at the office.

Loved coming here! My son rented his kayak here, I brought my own kayak. They didn't say anything about it. Which I thought was really nice. My son left his in another state so we came here for the afternoon so he could rent one. The staff were very polite. Even their porta potties were okay lol Definitey coming back
