This recreation area is part of Tenkiller Ferry Lake
We were boating on fumes late one evening and saw that Barnacle Bill’s was going to save the day with their 24/7 gas pump. We drove a long way into the “no wake” cove to get to the gas pump. With excitement, we parked, got our card out, got ready to get gas only to find the nozzle was zip-tied down and a small sign read “no gas”.
It looks like a very nice Marina but needless to say our first impression of Barnacle Bill’s was not a good one. It would have been nice if they would have changed their website to indicate gas was not available.
***UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT***
And it already looks incredible down there.
You won't believe you're floating on the water in Cherokee County.
It's state of the art and a wonderful staff.
Stopped by today on a trip up the lake. It was a low key, off the beaten path marina, with very little traffic. We chatted with the owner for a while then got some yummy fried catfish before continuing on. Next time we frequent Tenkiller, we will definitely be back here.
Their restaurant won't be open until "hopefully" next year. They still have their open sign on because they do have a little store and gas and bathrooms. It's looking like it'll be a really nice place to eat though. I hope they get to open by next year, they seem like good people!
Wow, what a turnaround with the new owners. We just finished up a weekend where we ate breakfast and dinner there both days! Food was fantastic, can't beat the burgers and the breakfast chimichanga. They've done a lot of work making this place top notch, nice, clean and welcoming. Looking forward to seeing the brand new bathrooms they are working on now. The staff are great, helpful and took care of us all weekend. Looking forward to coming back! - Also, please try the 'Painkiller' drink... mmmmmm.. (not pictured, but drink in photo was good too) Way to go crew!
