About Campground

Established in 1886 as a railroad depot, Avinger Station operated into the 20th Century. It was moved to a more prominent location near its original site in June of 2021 after pondering how the depot might serve the community once again. Desiring to preserve and improve our community’s heritage of service to travelers and trades, the depot is being restored and will serve as the RV Park office. Complimentary WiFi, concrete pads, patios, and roads. Our aim is to make your stay easy and enjoyable as you travel to or through East Texas.

We just can’t say enough good things about this RV Park! Brand new, all concrete, plenty of grass for pups, very level and spacious. I used the bathhouse which also has a laundry room and fitness area. All exceptionally clean! We walked right next door to the Five D Cattle Steakhouse which was awesome! We will definitely be back!

Stopped at Avinger Station to stay a night each way to and from visiting family near Dallas for Thanksgiving. My husband knew the area since he used to have family in Hughes Springs nearby. A truly beautiful setting and very well designed and maintained... all very nicely paved roads and sites with convenient hook up area that is well lit, a great space to one side with a half picnic table and a great small fire pit complete with wood ready to light! The fire pits are also all covered which is nice too since when we arrived for our second stay it had been raining pretty much all day, so the wood stayed nice and dry for us to light it in the early evening. Also very quiet and peaceful setting... there is a train track nearby so you will hear the train come through in the very early morning, but not a nuisance at all (in fact is was a nice memory of when we would visit this area more often years ago). We did not use the laundry or restroom facilities, but I would imagine they are very nice. A quick and convenient walk up to the street for dinner at the catfish restaurant was a nice treat. Wifi was great too! David greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our site, which was very easy to get to and pull through with a tow car. He also came by the next morning to check on us as well. So thankful for his time and attention to this special place, and hope to make another trip that way soon to be able to stay and enjoy it more. Would highly recommend to anyone near this area of northeast Texas. Thanks for a great stay David!

We stayed for 2 nights at this RV park. Other than fabulous I have no words. From arrival to departure this place was awesome. Everything is clean, clean, clean. Sites are well kept, we even hard a Magnolia tree. The laundry and bathroom was very nice and comfortable. The staff were personable and helpful. They even found a repairman to fix the air conditioner in our truck. Dont miss out at staying at this little gem.
