We love going to Arrowhead RV park! The staff are extremely friendly and Deedee is amazing. The campsites are a decent size and for full hookups I feel the price is very reasonable. The kids play area, the community room and fire pit, and the pickle ball court are all nice touches. They really try to involve their guests with their coloring contest and Big Foot hunt for the kids along with coffee and cinnamon rolls on Saturdays for the adults. We've been here three times and definitely will go again!
I'll start with the positives: the staff in the office and the gentleman walking around in the cowboy hat (I didn't catch any names) were very polite and friendly. The bathrooms, showers, and campsites overall were also very clean.
Now the rest. We had made a reservation with an RV. The weekend before our trip to this campground the RV had some issues, so we called in during the week after finding out the repairs would take a while to make sure that we were okay to put up a pop-up tent trailer and a regular tent in the space we had reserved, while being very careful to explain the situation. We were told on the phone that the site we had was one that allowed that. After checking in I started setting things up, and about the time I had the tent setup the gentleman in the cowboy hat came by and said that we were misinformed about being able to set up a tent in that site. After he went inside to try and clear this up, an older lady walking a little Yorkie dog also stopped by and was just flat out rude while we explained what was already being dealt with by another employee. We ended up being relocated to another site, which of course required completely taking everything down and setting it back up. Through the weekend we were barely at the camp site except to sleep. We were gone before 7 AM and not back until dark just to shower and get to bed. On the way home we noticed that there was an additional charge that had been sent to our account. We called in to ask what it was for, but the employee we got was the same rude lady that we had dealt with before. She was very pointed, and again rude, in her replies to our questions about the charge, said it was for some ice that we had purchased, and argued with us about "not being clear about our situation from the beginning" with the camp relocation. It would appear that they kept our card associated with the initial site and tried to charge us for someone else's items (I'm not sure how much ice you get for $17, but I hope it was a lot), and then acted like it was our fault that it happened overall. The camp sites were in a decent condition although a lot of the power poles only have an RV plug receptacle (you'll need an adapter to use a standard extension cord), but the sites are packed in tight together and the rude treatment from the lady that we dealt with the most will keep me from ever staying here again or recommending it to anyone else. I'd rather pack a generator, bathe in a creek and stay on the side of the highway than deal with them again.
This was our first time staying here and it won't be our last! Rates for camping sites were reasonable as was cost of laundry facilities, bags of ice, firewood and fire pits. The sites were nice and spacious. The staff were really friendly. Loved the nature trails. Look forward to going back!
We checked in at approximately 3:00 pm for 2 nights. We turned the heater on and left to go visit friends, we returned at 10pm. The room was ice cold the heater did not work at all. We called the number 2 times with no answer. We ended up borrowing a heater from our friends at 11pm. When a called the next day a man answered the phone and when I told him the heater was out he said you should have called. I did call and no one answered. I also told him that the bigger bed was horrible not only is it like sleeping on the ground but also has stains all over the bottom box spring. He told me that if he can't find cheap or free stuff then the owner won't let them upgrade. They did tell me I would get a $25 refund. The morning of check out I went to the office at 10:45am and it was locked, I rang the bell at the door and no one came out. I called and the woman that answered says oh yeah I forgot and came out about 5 minutes later. She hands me $25 and says I was going to put a heater in there and it spaced my mind. So she knew she was putting my family in a cabin with no heat. I recommend staying elsewhere. Even the Palozza would be a better option.
We planned a last minute end of summer camping trip here. We managed to get a waterfront RV spot. Thankfully the campground was quite empty, so we had the place mostly to ourselves. The people in the office were so friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The rec room with all the games and DVDs was an unexpected blessing. The campsites are beautiful and the bathrooms and showers were surprisingly clean. There was no shortage of things to do in the campground, but it's also close to town so it made it easy to explore the surrounding area as well. Will definitely stay here again.
