Jack Creek Recreation Area is located in a picturesque setting alongside towering rock bluffs and flowing waters. The area was constructed in the 1930’s by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and displays several unique, historic facilities. There is a short trail that climbs a couple of hundred feet to a recently restored rock overlook vista that offers a panoramic view of whispering pine trees and colorful fall vegetation. Jack Creek offers day use and a primitive campground at no cost. Also from Jack Creek Recreation Area is a trailhead for the Hole-In-The-Ground Mountain Hiking Trail and Sugar Creek Hiking Trail. Hole-In-The-Ground Trail is not a loop trail and extends approximately four miles in length. The Sugar Creek Hiking Trail extends approximately three miles connecting Jack Creek to Knopper’s Ford Recreation Area. Click here for more information.

Jack Creek is one of those amazing hidden little gems located right on the edge of the beautiful Ouitcha Mountains but still only about 35minutes away from Greenwood. The waters clear, cold and flowing perfect for swimming, floating or camping with the family! Restrooms/Changing stations and individual campsites with covered tables and small grills open to the public.
This place is beautiful. It has grills, a pavilion, changing rooms and restrooms. There are gorgeous trails to hike and camping areas.
Beautiful, clean watering hole perfect for swimming and surrounded by hiking trails. Nice restroom area. Picnic tables. Small parking lot. Wasn’t overcrowded. I brought 4 kids ranging in ages 3-16 and a great time was had by all! 10/10 recommend! If you need to get any supplies or food, I would suggest getting those before heading down to Jack’s Creek as there aren’t many stores around for a few miles.
Beautiful swimming spot! Very deep watering hole, and nice area with picnic tables, outhouse style bathroom, changing stalls and a hiking trail.
Easy drive there too. Will definitely be back!
