Horsehead Lake offers serveral amenities to its visitors. Managed cooperatively by the US Forest Service and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, it provides a developed camping area, restroom facilities with showers, a playground, and picnic area, most of which are fully accessible. There is primitive camping and a boat launch across the lake from the developed campground, offered by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. There is a 'no wake' limitation on the lake so visitors are encouraged to operate smaller motors or trolling motors while enjoying their day of boating and fishing. Campground and Day-Use Area Rules

There are spots before the campground that is free camping..There is a Sandy beach in the day use area..showers and bathrooms....Showers work but never used them..The bathrooms are not the cleanest
But useable...I would advise everyone to wear beach shoes if you use the showers.
Bumped into this on our drive down from the mountain to our hotel. Do not regret stopping. Very clean. Great scenery!!!
Beautiful place. Well kept up with especially for December. Needs a bridge built in order to not have to drive through high running Creek water. Didn't give 5 stars because the showers. It would be fine if it was free but it isn't and when you push the button in the shower it stays on for maybe 10 sec. Not enough to do anything especially when Everytime the water stops and you push the button again it starts cold. Not fun in December and not fun for a 3 year old Also, the playground is not for smaller kids My 3yr old whom is tall for her age can't get up the steps nor is it safe if she did. You will have to lift and go up yourself to help a small child. It's very tall and requires climbing up from bars. Maybe a 7+ year old? Other than that, great place, beautiful scenery.
Had a great day out on the lake in are little boat catching lots of small bass and bream. The views are amazing, and the water is very relaxing.
