This is the worst family camp I have ever seen on a base. Its situated by the main gate and although its close to the commissary and the BX, it is basically just a parking lot. The lots are limited as most people are long term residents that are stationed at Altus. There is no maximim time they can stay in a spot so good luck getting a spot. They do not reserve spots either. Its first come forst serve. You will pay $550 a month to basically live in a parking lot. There are no hardened shelters or shower facilities. All the campers are stacked on top of each other with minimal parking.
Obviously you have access to the base facilities and the rec center offers rentable items like volleyball and different outdoor games but there is not anything here in the campground. Very small maybe around 10 spaces. It is at the front gate so lots of traffic.
ONLY POWER (30amp was not operational) AND WATER. Not at all impressed with this park. Was told we could shower at the fitness facility, since there are not facilities on site. However, the fitness facility is not open 24hrs. Additionally, there are no staff on site nor on call. Lastly, no control on who goes to what site. We arrived to find our site taken. Not worth the money. Very disappointed!
If I were to estimate there's probably only 12 RV hookups being that I'm on Altus Air Force base all the time working
We have travel th and country and this is by far the best place were had th re pleasure to stay. Everything from laundry to tennis courts. Deer wander the park and they even have a resident emu they've named frank. Were hoping to make it our winter home. Opps wrong camp but if your ever in bandera Texas the farm country rv park is the place to stay. Sorry for the mistake.
