Campsite: Old Folks Flat
We stayed for a couple of nights at a large group site. Tent spaces are a little awkward since the site is on a bit of a slope. There wasn’t a ton of shade at our site and others had less. There were plenty of tables at our site. The fire pit was on a slope so that made it challenging to sit around. The bathrooms had flush toilets but the lights didn’t work. No camp host on site. No cell coverage either, which was funny since they want you to scan the QR code to pay online.
Overall the site was really pretty with a mix of spruce and aspens. Cooler temps at the high elevation. Just a few minutes from Cleveland reservoir.
The fire did a great deal of damage but it’s slowly recovering.
Campsite: Pine Creek - Cottonwood Campground — Wasatch Mountain State Park
Stayed here with a group for just a night. A beautiful campground with a small river running through it. There were tons on hummingbirds flying around along with other wildlife like squirrels and chipmunks.
The spots are fairly close together but luckily it has flush toilets and showers. If you have an RV many of the sites have water and sewer hookups.
Shade was a little spotty overall but since we went early spring it wasn’t too hot yet.
