It's dry again after the March and April runoff, great for hiking and bird watching. Watch out for flash floods in monsoon season. The water can reach thirty feet in the lower canyon(look at the brush piles on the rocks!) Great place to see the petroglyphs is at the convergence of the stream and river on the face of the rock to the east.

Primative ramp with No dock, has great handicap ramp and platform with easy access. Vault restroom and portapottys are the order of the day. Free parking and camping are a plus. Saturday is a busy day with over twenty boats on the Cowlitz river is a bit crowded. Fishing is fantastic.
