Fun spot to camp. Beware of the many cactus species. The Superstitious Mountains makes for a beautiful backdrop. There are trails for you to walk on or take a horse. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on the trails. There is abundant space.to park your vehicle and set up your tent/camper etc. This area is known to have rattlesnakes so if you've never been in territory with venomous snakes I recommend contacting Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary and enrolling their courses, if nothing more than to provide you with confidence. Several folks brought horse trailers loaded with horses and toured far up into the trails.
Awesome little place to pop up a tent. Free camping. Washrooms. Beautiful view of the nearby river with a selection of waterfowl.
Free campground with toilets, showers, water and electricity. We stayed until our tent couldn't handle the wind and collapsed. Not bad for February. Beautiful sunny days and mostly great people camping in the area. Warning. It is free there will most likely be undesirables in the vicinity.
