We were there Monday through Thursday so it wasn't very busy. The owners are super nice and helpful. There are many trees in the campground. There are around 60 sites and four cabins. Each cabin has an easy up canopy over the picnic table. All sites have picnic tables and a fire pit. The picnic tables are in good shape. The campground is really clean. There is a lake across the road with a swimming area. I would suggest walking to the lake as opposed to driving as there isn't a lot of parking areas. There are many really nice rustic sites for tenting. There is a very nice dish washing area near the restrooms for the rustic sites. There is a small store with some essentials. There is a nice older store about a mile away. They have washers and dryers which are fairly new. There is WiFi that works quite well throughout the campground. There is a nice pavilion with lights and picnic tables. There is a really nice loop walk. On the loop walk there is a scavenger hunt that should be great for kids. They have to find 12 different animals on the walk. It is an easy trail to walk and marked well. There is a playground for the kids. They also have badminton, horseshoes and corn hole. The only thing that I wished were different was the bathrooms. They were definitely sufficient but could use a few updates. They could use a bench area in each shower area, more hooks for hanging towels and clothes on and some sort of bath mat in the shower. The restrooms were clean and well stocked.
If you tent this is perfect for you. I would recommend this campground. It's somewhat small family run campground with super friendly owners.
I didn't know that skinks were native to Michigan. But we were lucky enough to see one at the campground and get a picture! I guess that at 66 years old you can still learn new things!
