Campsite: Cottonwood RV Campground

Winnie & Glen are nice hosts. Site #12 is right on Chicago Creek so all you hear is water:) Quiet park. Close to downtown Idaho Springs. Not far from scenic drive to Mt. Evans. About 1/2 hr drive to Denver. Would love to visit again. NO BATHHOUSE OR LAUNDRY however.

Campsite: Casper East RV Park

Carol in the office was nice & Robert, the son-in-law of the new owners, was helpful. The campground is in downtown Casper so there is current construction going on with the bridge just above the park, with added noise from traffic, RR running at night, and a industrial complex behind the campground. However, these are NOISE ISSUES OUT OF CONTROL OF THE PARK. It irks me when some campers complain about things that campgrounds cannot change. If these issues are such a bother, ask before you book or drive up.

***So, let's focus on what they can change: We stayed several nights. It's hot in the summer so naturally we asked for a shaded spot. The first, lower section of the park appears to be for permanents and/or seasonals who stay long term. We counted @6 empty sites in this area with heavy shade when we pulled in. But we were given a spot in the back, upper section where there is little shade on any site and ours had zero. It's probably practice here (like many other parks) that they keep overnighters here separate from perms. But it's already the middle of the summer and their long-term sites are settled so why not allow a camper who has paid the @$50/night fee and has nicely asked specifically for shade to grant it (it makes such a difference to sit & eat outside, cool the RV so the AC doesn't run 24/7, etc.)?

***The bigger issue is the park NEEDS TO ADD GRAVEL TO THE DUMP AREA. Our site only had E/W so the dump station was a must before we exited. It had stormed the night before so the dump area was full of water early the next morning. With only one dump station for all RVers and it partially under water, we waited several hours later to leave so there'd be no line and less water. Not fun.

Easy fix, owners. Thanks for reading.
