I Always enjoy exploring around moon lake , there's allot of history there, allot of legends, paranormal activity has been talked about happening in this place. But aside from the myths and ghost stories, the past and the eagerness I have to learn about it... this place is beyond beautiful. The mystery of this lake makes it more intriguing, but it's peaceful. The fact that I go here once a week minimum, it surprises me each time I go how empty the beach is. It's not crowded and it's in the middle of nowhere, it's breath taking and there's so many different trails that go to different places
Always enjoy being at starvation. Fishing is really good this year the water is clear, camp grounds could use some TLC. Broken glass is all over in the sand, definitely recommend water shoes. As a mom of 3 tiny humans camping so close to the beach you want to take your shoes off and get your toes buried in the sand.. the amount of broken glass that is through the camp grounds prevents that which is vwhy I rate this 4 stars. Otherwise, I adapt throw water shoes on my v kids and we enjoy every minute of every day at starvation.

Super fun place to hike. Smokey quartz and obsidian is everywhere once you get up there. Parking by the picnic tables and a bathroom. Trails are not wheelchair accessible. We didn't go far from the picnic tables but what we did adventure was fairly easy for my kids 7,4, and 2. Trails that go to the south of the picnic tables are easier for kids. To the north where the stream runs is more rock climbing then hiking and you cant get far its fenced off.
