Campsite: Wagon Wheel Campground

We stayed here from mid-October 2023 through mid-February 2024. This park is a 55+ park and is very quiet day and night. If you are retired, they have plenty of activities going on throughout the month. Dances, breakfast, jam sessions, poker, bingo, darts, a craft room, a wood shop, and walking to outer edge of the park is 0.75 miles each lap. The sunsets are gorgeous over the desert. You can get mail and packages here, PO Box is $10 (not sure if that was a one time charge or per month). They also have a manual car wash station, propane fill, and an unfenced dog walk area that is just dirt and no gravel, great for tiny dog feet! There is a dog run but it has gravel so best for larger dogs. They have some exercise equipment in the main hall along with a book collection, and stage.

The location, if you are looking for solitude you’re in the right place. There is nothing around for a 20 minute drive down the highway. Quartzite is there. Beyond that tiny desert town, you’re looking at 2.5 hours to Lake Havasu City or Phoenix. There is a Walmart in Parker but its shelves are usually bare from being the closest to Quartzite. Other than ATV trails and desert golf along with the activities mentioned above, that’s all there is. Most people come for the ATV trails. There is not much hiking as the gravel is deep and there isn’t much elevation. There was no mountain biking for us unless we drove to Lake Havasu City or Phoenix.

This campground is well worth the money and the campers here are extremely friendly. Overall, our experience was positive, just wish there were more activities that we were into. It made an excellent place to work since it was so quiet and the sites are a decent size as well. We recommend this campground.

Campsite: Angels Camp RV Park

The owners are excellent, the park is clean, and quiet. There is a little road noise in spots up front but the road isn't too busy. There is 1 full bathroom with a shower it is both the men's and women's bathroom, it was very clean as well. There is a laundry room, snack machine and ice. Dogs are allowed, on leash and not to be left alone outside. Many people staying long term but everything looks nice. Every spot we saw in the front lot was pull thru and roughly 100 ft. Most had trees for shady that were cut high to not damage your trailer. Full hookups, free wifi and cable. The only reason I might say 4 I stead of 5 stars is because the sites are really close together, about 6 feet of grass between gravel path to gravel path.

We really like this park for it's close proximity to Barber Hills mountain bike trails, about 4 miles.
