Campsite: Horsepen Branch Hiker-biker Overnight Campsite — Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park

Second week of May, it was before the bike tour season started and the spot was super quiet and I cooked and slept in peace. There’s a well for water and burning wood we’re easy to find.

Campsite: Kozy Campground

On the website. It says $12 a night. When you get there, the post on each campsite says $15 a night. Confusing and which one is a lie?

You can go down to the river and at night you can hear it from your tent. Very calming.

Campsite: Brooks Lake Southeast Camping

Spectacular views of pinnacles Buttes. Water is calm and you can watch horses from the ranch nearby run into the field in which a section of CDT goes through.

Campsite: Soda Lake Wildlife Area

Ultra basic free campground. FCFS. Sites are far enough apart so you can have your peace. Bathrooms are clean. Bring enough water and food. Water is calm. So much better than the dry tent camping in the town which you must pay. Worth venturing out on your bike tour.
