Nice 'moderate' 4.8 mile RT hike to the 'flat stone' beach at the foot of Maiden Rock. 1200 verts down, so 1200 verts back out w/ some steep slick dust/sand washouts.

Areas of the canyon on the way in were 65-70 degrees on a 90s day. 'Nature's air conditioning was awesome. Go early, bring plenty of water, and plan on swimming for an hour or two.

Most folks get there via boat.
