Campsite: Butterfield RV Resort and Observatory

You need to stay just for the observatory! Super friendly staff, very nice sites, mix of paved and gravel sites, nice wide paved access roads. All 30/50amp FHU, some shade in most spots, too. Clean and very well maintained, and the staffs pride in the park shows. Good views of the mountains from most sites. They even let you wash your rig for a small fee.

Great cell and Starlink coverage, easy walk to the Safeway and Ace, but you wouldn't know they were there otherwise. Quiet park, quiet area. Easy access to Benson, which is worth checking out along with Tombstone, the Mexican border, Saguaro National Park, and Kartchner Caverns State Park.

A 5 star resort except for 2 minor things, the stupid train runs ALL the time, and the sites have a large curb from the road and are a BIT short for larger rigs, but otherwise an amazing RV park.

Campsite: John Wayne's Waterfront Resort

Great views all around, quiet and close to town and the casino. The sites, although typical water front small in size, are FHU 30amp and 50amp mix, most with concrete pad and all with gravel and grass. Clean and well maintained, friendly on site staff. Good mix of transient and seasonal sites. Sites have picnic tables. The access road in is a bit tight.

Good Verizon and Starlink service. Be sure to take in sunrise across the street too.

Campsite: Dungeness Recreation Area

Beautiful and relatively easy hike to spectacular views! Take the primitive trail if you're able.

Campsite: Trail's End Wilderness Retreat

Location, location, location! This Thousand Trails park is in OK shape, it needs grass desperately but is clean and well maintained. Bigger spots for a waterfront park, all FHU with both 30amp and 50amp. But this is really about being in beautiful Cresent Bar!

The entrance is a bit tight and wear shoes 😉
