Could this area be from a foreign planet?
This camp spot has NO amenities. The sign on the way in reads ‘no dumping’. The road into the campground is narrow. Big rigs should grab one of the first spots. The further back the spots get smaller. Great sunsets. Low light pollution yields great star views.
Several types of cacti here. Like a dense forest. The cholla are the ones to steer clear of. Nasty hooked spines!
This is BLM land. As such, there is an active target practice range to the West. If that puts you on edge, best to go elsewhere.
December 2023. Lots of campsites with less than a dozen campers in the whole resort. 36.00 per night. All amenities you need. Nice and clean. Note: Warm restrooms would be the only complaint here. I guess that’s a wintertime problem…

Haven’t stayed her YET. Scoped this out for a future stay. Large campground with plenty of sites. Has a group site that can be reserved as well. Half sites have signs that say reserved for horse campers. M-F only until 8pm, then it’s open to all.
This is NOT a horsey camper only campground.
Clean campground. 10.00 per night. Three sites are first come. Large garbage cans. A mile or so of gravel to camp. River is within 100’ of each site.
Large parking lot with plenty of room to overnight. Pit toilet. Lots of bugs and bees at times. No garbage cans, pack it out. Motorcycle noise can be heard across the street during the day. Lake is about a 1/4 mile hike North on sandy trail. John Wayne walking path goes west all the way to the Beverly Bridge.
