Campsite: Indian Creek Campground — Lake Owyhee State Park

Quiet, as it’s the end of the road, and it’s very open (zero privacy or cover). No showers here, even though the state’s website claims there are - those are at McCormick and they’re “cold” showers as of 9/1/21. Park host and Oregon State Parks staff are all super friendly. Boat ramp is open, even at really low water, and it’s a great launch location. 3 vault toilets were all clean and a good fish cleaning station. If you bring dogs, keep them on a leash, because the goat head weeds are everywhere and you’ll be picking them for days.

Campsite: Chimneys West — Big Bend National Park

Do it!! And if it’s 80 or hotter, bring more water than you think you’ll need.

Campsite: Log Cabin RV and Campground — Olympic National Park

Excellent location and water access, and it's super quiet. The water is crystal clear, super cold and filled with 2 unique-to-the-lake species of trout (catch & release only). The A-frames are cool, but falling apart due to all the carpenter ants that will fill your room during the warmer seasons (you'll kill carpenter ants your whole visit) and the mouse that made its way in/out of our A-frame via the hole by the baseboard heater. Plenty of room, but they switched things on us by no longer giving access to the loft that all the photos online showed... not a huge deal, but c'mon... nice bathroom, plenty of parking and a picnic table outside your unit where you can cook, eat & relax.
