The hike up to Fourth of July Lake is so beautiful. The trail is well used and wide. It's a steady uphill climb but not too steep. There are two spots where the trail crosses a stream but large rocks make for an easy way over. Once you make it to the lake, you have beautiful views of Castle Peak and other sawtooth mountains. Great for a day hike and a good starting point for Backcountry backpacking
