Campsite: Tebo Station RV Resort

TRAIN. HORNS. ALL. NIGHT. LONG. :( The park is right next to a road that crosses a busy rail line. Trains come through every 1-2 hours, night and day, and they sound their horns at this and other nearby crossings. It was impossible for us to get a decent night's sleep, as we were awakened each time a train came through. I'm glad we were there for only one night.

Otherwise, this is a nice park. Well laid-out, good signage, thoughtfully placed utility connections, and very long pull-through sites--long enough that we were able to remain hitched up in our 63' long rig. There's a lovely pool, although we didn't get to use it. Easy access from the I-20 frontage road. Plenty of maneuvering room on the interior roads for big rigs. Surprisingly, there was not much noise from the highway...or maybe it was drowned out by the trains.

My only other minor complaint is with the service before and during our stay. The reservation process is manual. They have a computerized reservation system, according to the owner, but they're not using it. Instead, you fill out an online form and wait for a call back. Your credit card number is taken over the phone. I played phone tag with the owner, which was somewhat inconvenient. Their system sent a confirmation email with our site number, but later I got another email telling me that my payment was overdue. I checked with the owner and learned that this message was generated automatically because he didn't charge our card until we arrived. That makes sense, but there must be some way to disable the "past due" email. More critically, when we arrived, the office was locked (4 pm on a Saturday afternoon), nobody was around, and there were no instructions for how to check in. Fortunately I had the owner's phone number from our previous calls. He thought he had texted me the check-in instructions, but later discovered that he'd forgotten to send them, for which he apologized. We got another automated "past due" email the morning of our departure, apparently because the owner hadn't yet run our card. Again, these were all minor annoyances, but surprising for a brand-new park when there are clearly systems in place to easily handle all this automatically.

We would not stay here again only because of the train noise. If you're a VERY sound sleeper, though, Tebo Station is a great place for an overnight stop.
