We stayed here for a week and a half in September of 2023. The Good: The park is in a fairly good location along I-5. It is well kept, has a nice pool and hot tub, and a HUGE enclosed dog run. They accept packages, have fair prices for laundry, and while there are some sketchy areas not too far from the park, the park has security and the employees are friendly and seem to keep a close enough eye to keep out any issues. The sites are decent sized, but we did have to park our truck sideways to fit, even in the largest sites. The bad: there are a crazy number of feral cats running around everywhere (and smells like tom cat in some areas), and they appear to be fed by the staff who leave cat food in and around the pool area, and near the dog park, which our dogs inadvertently ate and had digestive issues from. The drain in the dog park has bars which are wide enough that some smaller dogs may be able to go through which could be dangerous for some. While it may not be practical for irrigation, it would be nice if there was a small lawn area next to each site rather than just rocks. The pool, while nice, is very cold, even when it's 100 degrees outside. They have a gigantic solar array for power generation, but apparently forgot to install a solar water heating system to keep the pool warmer. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again but there is some room for improvement. Oh and we HIGHLY recommend the nearby La Dona Mexican Food Truck that was across from the Sinclair gas station when we were there. Excellent Mexican food.
We stayed here for a week in August. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but the park is not without its quirks. There are several nice amenities at this park, including a pool and nice laundry facility and is, overall, a good deal for the money. We were surprised that the park was only perhaps 50% full when we were there. The people were friendly. Now onto the quirks: 1. As you've probably read in other reviews, there is freeway and train noise, but it really didn't bother us, though the trains are traveling at sufficient speed to shake your rig when they go by, but again it's not a deal breaker. 2. They changed the restroom door codes during our stay and did not inform us. 3. The pool is only open until 4:30 through the week, which could be very annoying to some people. 4. There is no enclosed dog park. 5. They put these ridiculous orange cones right in the middle of the roads in the way of tucks and RVs trying to make turns. 6. There is no parking lot near the laundry facility, so you have to carry your laundry a long distance to get to it. 7. There is an outright firearm prohibition, which I'm sure everyone ignores, but it's still ridiculous. Other parks generally say no open display or discharge of firearms. 8. They put us in a 'double' site due to our length, which we did fit into, barely, by parking our truck at an angle. They said they would have enough room to put another rig behind us if needbe, which is would be quite impossible unless that rig was no wider than a bicycle. Still, the site was fine for us. There was an active hornets nest in the electric box when we opened it, but we quickly dispatched them. We do recommend the park overall, but as you can see, it's not without its quirks...
This is a nice campground, with a few small caveats. The web site was not up to date with regard to which sites do and don't have sewer (hint: site 10 does not). There could also be another dumpster or two (or bear proof trash receptacles) throughout the campground, not just at the entrance which is rather far away. Dog waste bags and receptacles throughout the campground, and an enclosed dog run would be great additions. The shower price of $1.75 for 5 minutes is a bit ridiculous. Update: After we brought it to their attention, they did fix their web site so it's correct now.
