Love Door County but hate the summer madness of it…Potawatomi Campground and Sturgeon Bay have so much to offer. An hour and fifteen minutes away from the ferry to Washington Island a definite must do day trip.
Campground is beautiful and campsites are gravel based and generous in size. Hike from the campground to the lookout tower along the water, ride rustic bike trails and you can easily walk waters edge.
Biking to Sturgeon Bay from the campground is a short ride. Biking local roads is scenic, so many options. Downtown is very quaint and good shopping.
Stunning autumn destination, natural beauty everywhere in this campground. Sites are graciously spaced. We were at Riverside Campground and on a river site. Accessibility to the Greenbrier River bike trail is a short bike ride from the campground. Hiking trails and arboretum are a must do.
Campground showers are clean and plenty of room to put all the necessities, best I’ve seen in any campground. Watoga also has laundry facilities.
The campground is amazing. You’ll need to drive to Marlington to find restaurants, shopping etc.
