Campsite: Magnolia Sands RV Park

Brigette and Gary are such sweet people. They are working hard to make improvements to the park, including better wi-fi. The wi-fi does work, mostly, if you change around the routers. We were limping along, using our ATT wifi and theirs. T-Mobile is NON-existent, as is Visible.. It is a serious dead zone. Anyway, about the park...

There were many snow birds staying there, and long-term renters. The park is Quiet. There are campers who stay for a night or two, or a week, or two (like we did). Everyone was so very nice. OH! They also have cute cabins.

There is a pond, which is pretty, and people walk around. We did not go down to the water. The bugs chew me to the bone. Idk why, they just do. The bath house and laundry area is very clean and adequate. I did not use the bath house or the exercise room. I did take pics though. There are two washers and two dryers and work perfectly. They sell quarters at the office. $1.50/$1.00. Bargain compared to others.

The landscaping, trees, flowers, and yard ornaments are all so nice. Whimsical. There is concrete pads, grass and gravel at most sites, and there are fire pits and picnic table at each site. 30/50 amps and water pressure is great. Our "yard" was sand..... Which, if I'm not at the beach I'm not interested. Anyway, we enjoyed our stay at Magnolia Sands. We camped at Magnolia Sands RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Campsite: Chickahominy Riverfront Park

The park was nice. Our space was a pretty good size, especially since we didn't have anyone on the side (thank goodness). The park people were nice. The camp hosts were also nice. I didn't like that anyone can drive through the campground. There is a lot of space for a doggy park, but they do not have one. It would be nice if they trimmed back some of the brush so you could better see the water.

Campsite: Picture Lake Campground

The staff are great. Professional, nice, accommodating, and organized. The store is nice. There is mail pickup there and a convenient mailbox located outside. They can refill propane tanks, sell firewood, and they also rent RVs - for their sites or others.

Our site is huge, paved, and nice. We are not that close to other campers. The wi-fi is the best we've had at any campground in 14 states. No issues whatsoever.

The pool is clean and large, with many chairs and space. There is a huge playground for kiddos to play. There is also a pavillion with picnic tables. The greenspace is spacious and nice. The lake is beautiful, and see some people fishing.

The laundry room has 4 working and nice washers and dryers. The only downfall is that it is hot.

The dumpsters are a disaster. The garbage is picked up on Monday, but there are so many people who stay and live here, more dumpsters are definitely needed. It is in a dirt/muddy (after rain) area, and I hate going to take trash.

Main roads are paved with speed bumps, and some potholes. The rest is dirt/gravel, and have mudpuddles. These road are mainly for full-timers or long-timers. There spaces aren't as spacious, and there are some run-down campers on site. However, there are really nice, spacious spaces in the back with patios and nice landscaping.

Speaking of landscaping... there are many beautiful trees, crepe myrtles, rose bushes, etc around the park.

For the most part, this campground is quiet and safe. While there are many full-timers, there are children who live here, but all have been very nice and respectful. There are some golfcarts that ride around, but they are not flying or loud.

There is a racetrack across the lake, and can get loud at time - on weekends, during the day/early evening. This has not been an issue for us at all.

We have been here for 3.5 weeks, and plan to be here for another 1.5 weeks. No regrets in staying here.

Campsite: 119 Rivers Edge Campground

Great for ATV rides and kayaks. We aren't into either. Many people there, especially on the weekends come in for ATV tours and rides. There is a nice overflow parking area for extra vehicles and trailers. The spaces close to the river are skinny. Very skinny, unless you have a small camper, you are cramped. The area in the middle have larger spaces, but really no view. we opted for river. They were not busy during the week, and was allowed to park in the space beside ours for convenience of unloading groceries and such. They have a picnic table and fire ring at each site.

They do have some seasonal, full timers, and workers who stay there. Which is perfectly fine.

The whole area is newish, and all gravel. It is very easy to navigate around. There is an office and mens/womens restroom on site. There is also a good area for people with dogs to walk behind the overflow parking. Besides that, there is nothing else. The campground is in-between a major road and the river, with railroad beyond that. The road noise does get a little loud, but was fine. The train was not bad.

I do want to shout out to J.R., who keeps the grounds very neat and upkept. He is such a nice guy, and can see his children playing around. He works so hard - always doing something.
