The campground was beautiful even though there are only a few FHU sites. The campground has been well taken care of but the sites are very close together. If we had been there during the weekend we may have been able to hear the camp neighbor next door belch.
The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the camp host (the reason for 4 stars). She was just about as unfriendly as I have ever met. I was trying to make a lighthearted/funny conversation that our GPS took tried to take us someplace different, and she completely bit my head off and told me it was obviously my fault, "because no one else has every said anything about it and her GPS has always gotten her to this campground with no problem." Lighten up sister I was just trying to have a conversation with you.
We stopped in for a night on our way further south and this place was a DUMP. The photos on the website don't depict what the park actually looks like.
Spaces were tight to get into and out of, the pads are gravel which is fine if there aren't ruts in them which our pad had and it was sloping horribly down the hill and to the passenger side. Apparently, a lot of people live there full time which is fine, but they keep their junk outside of their campers. The spot we had a full time resident was gone for a bit and we had to contend with the big indoor furniture they left outside before we could even back in.
The view of Ray Roberts Lake was gorgeous at sunrise. The lady that checked us in was nice, the view of the lake and her being nice is the only reason I am giving this place 2 stars.
I suggest keep driving 5 more miles east and camping at Ray Roberts State Park, beautiful campground.
