Campsite: Sasquatch Farm

Mixed Review:

Location: Remote - so you can't rate that. I personally like the remoteness and tolerated the very rough (although paved) road. My wife didn't particularly like the remoteness.

Service: Service from staff and ownership was somewhat responsive, although this is mixed because I had several issues that I should not have had to ask for "help" for. Example: Many of the sewer connections are uphill or at the very least at a very bad angle and distance from their designated parking pads. I had to request scrap lumber to build a proper support system to get the sewer to flow correctly. The water supply was repeatedly tainted. See the attached video. They claimed it was just "iron" but regardless of the cause it was unacceptable. They tried a few times to resolve the issue during the month we were there. The front desk staff was very polite.

I liked having a secure "gated" entry into the facility. The gravel used at the sites was too large. 4 to 6 inch size rocks are great base rock, but not surface rock to drive / walk on. They should put a smaller diameter rock on top of the base rock. Maybe that is a work in progress. When the guy going around once a week to mow he would sometimes throw rocks. You could hear his mower from time to time crushing and throwing rocks. One rock hit my truck but I decided not to complain about it because we needed to be there a few more weeks and I didn't want to sour the relationship.

I would probably not revisit the place unless they made some serious improvements to the RV sites. Many are clearly not level or even close. The sewer connections look like they were engineered with very little thought. Who puts them 4 to 6 inches above ground, and uphill from the site they are meant to be used on?

The Internet connectivity was very good while we were there. I used it daily for work and didn't have many problems. Five stars on the fiber-fed WiFi.

It is a work in progress. I hope they figure it out. I would advise anyone wanting to stay there to call ahead and see if they fixed their water problem first.

Update to owner: Yes, I got one warning about my sound system being too loud after 10pm (quiet hours) and after that one warning I complied with the rules. As for loud stereos or other nature-robbing sounds, I heard loud sounds coming from the storefront, the construction area out back, on at least two evenings. Your sounds were louder than mine. Maybe they were complaining about you and not me? I'm glad you feel it important to point that out and not speak to the other deficiencies, nature or not, mountain or not. You can still address the sewer placements and you can not make excuses about lot levelness. Rock is natural. Add more. Make it level for the longer rigs and make it clear in your advertisement you don't have level lots. You also failed to mention or even apologize for your mowing staff sending rocks flying and striking me and my vehicle. What if someone's kid was struck by flying mower debris? You'd have bigger problems then. Taking it out on the reviewer is not a good way to increase your review average. I just took a star.

Campsite: Near Bighorn on Forest Road 231

Amazing views. Breathtaking scenery. Get someone else to drive while you look all around. Stop at all the turnouts and take a breath of that fresh clean mountain air.
