This is an amazing spot. If you're lucky, you'll get a site right on the Tom Bigbee waterway under the shade of pines and hardwoods. At first I was taken aback by the Mississippi culture; apprehensive at first but kind and welcoming. This place is great for a holiday weekend -- it's packed with campers outdoing one another with the lights at night around their sites. Kids on bikes are everywhere and everyone is friendly. All for $22 a night.
While you're here, make sure you visit some of the local towns (like Aberdeen and Columbus) to get a flavor of the area. Also, there's a great local restaurant called Friendship House that serves steaks and seafood (catfish and shrimp).
Quaint locally owned RV Park that caters to long-termers but still perfect for an overnight stay with complete hookups and wireless internet for free. Aaron in the office was most hospitable and the price was right. Thanks for the nice overnight!
Closest KOA to Flaming Gorge National Park, this quaint campground is well spaced and has full hookups. Plenty of large pull through sites for big rigs and nice deep back in sites as well. I made the mistake of reserving a spot at Green River KOA (about 60 away), but Tracy was kind enough to come into the office after hours to get me checked in. Highly recommend!
Not to be missed! If you are a lover of geology, I would highly recommend it.
