Campsite: Emily Lake Recreation Area

One of my very favorite places on earth! My family spends almost half the summer camping here. We love the beautiful campsites that are spacious and several are private as well. There are no showers or flushing toilets, but there are outhouses and hookups for water and electric at every site. There's also a seperate dock in the campground that can be used by campers to fish from or tie boats through during your stay ☺.

The lake is big enough to go boating, skiing, and tubing if anyone wants, and we love kayaking as well! There's also a sandbar in the middle of the lake that it is fun to boat out to and swim around ☺. It is also a good place to go fishing and has no wake hours starting at 6PM so that people fishing will have no disruptions from large speedboats going fast through the lake.

The beach area is very nice and water is nice and shallow for quite a ways out, giving a lot of room for kids to play ☺. If you forget life jackets, Florence County Parks has some on a display there that can be borrowed and returned before leaving 😁. We always try to wear water shoes in the swimming area just because there are several little rocks until you get out a little bit.

The views are beautiful here. I love seeing the sunrises and sunsets over the water! 🌅 I even recently took my son here to take pictures instead of buying expensive school photos, and they turned out beautifully!

Campsite: East Bass Lake Park

Nice campground with a wide variety of sizes of sites equipped with electricity. Outhouses are available. Many trees still on lake side around campsites, but most of the campground just has low vegetation because there were MANY trees that had to be cut down throughout the campsite area because of a tree disease.

Nice pavillion with electric that can be rented through Florence Natural Resources Center for events. Nice swing set and playground area for kids to enjoy, boat launch with dock, and beach area with floating raft. There was more luck and weeds than I remember when I visited this past week, but beach area was nice and clean and kids enjoyed it. There are also 4 life jackets that are available for use by beach goers and need to be returned after use.
