The only true national park in Oregon is Crater Lake National Park. While there are four other federally managed areas, none are national parks. Luckily, Crater Lake holds the weight of the state’s only national park flawlessly and is a popular camping and outdoor destination year-round.
There are only a few developed campgrounds in the park itself, and they’re only open in the summer. RV campers will be happy to hear that the campgrounds are accessible to them. Primitive campsites are available to those who acquire a backcountry hiking permit. The best camping near Crater Lake National Park is in the park itself. If you can’t get a spot (or it’s winter), Fort Klamath, OR, has several dispersed options as well as a nearby state recreation site.
