With it being off season, this was one of the only campgrounds in Custer state park that was open. The attendant quickly came over to greet us as we pulled into our spot. We booked online and that process was a breeze. Drank my tea by the river in the early morning and watched a few deer strolling by. The camp spot was level and dry. The restrooms were the most maintained and clean restrooms I have experienced at any state camping facility. The entrance to the “wildlife loop” is right around the corner and you must do it! It is an is an extra $20 but SO worth it if you haven’t experienced seeing wildlife in this area.
