We loved our stay at Sandy Oak! Driving cross country with our travel trailer, our baby and dog we took a wrong turn in Atlanta and ended up having to find a place for the night off the 20 last minute. Our hosts Mary and Larry were so helpful and sweet, they made it easy to pull in off the highway and even met us at the gate to take us to our spot.

The hard packed sand and oak trees made for easy and scenic camping, there was enough room between the spaces and the restroom and shower were spotless. The campground is close to the exit, but far enough that we couldn't hear the interstate at all, it was quiet and peaceful all night.

We burned some of the local oak wood they had available and it kept us nice and warm and cheerful for hours and the trees between the spots made it seem more private and secluded. The prices for everything were very affordable- less than half what the next campground up the road in Florence wanted to charge, and the hospitality was very warm and welcoming.

They're putting in a pond and there's a playground for little ones, so we think this place will only get better! We'd definitely stay here again and can't wait to see all the new changes. Highly recommend this place if you can get a spot, we felt lucky to get one of the last spaces especially rolling in after hours when most other places had closed. Thanks again for a great stay Sandy Oak! Hope to see you again someday!!
