I stayed at Waterside in 2021 while on a camping/biking trip. I don't usually like camping at private campgrounds because I prefer a more natural setting with more trees and more distance from the neighbors. However, I didn't have a problem in the cabin here since it faces away from the RVs and it was quite clean and comfortable. Is it a shed made into a cabin? Yes. But for someone like me who usually stays in PA State Park camping cottages on these trips, it was exactly what I was looking for. And unlike those cottages, the cabins at Waterside have A/C, which makes a trip in the heat of the summer a lot more pleasurable.
The bath house was a bit primitive, but clean. The showers take quarters, so make sure you have some on hand.
I didn't use the pool, but it looked very nice.
The lady who checked me in was very pleasant and helpful. There's a little store at the entrance for firewood and basic needs, which is a huge help and frankly something the state parks should consider so they can make some money and people can get small necessities without driving 5 miles.
There are a lot of places to hike and bike in the area, and when I get back to conquer some more of them, I'll have no hesitation about renting a cabin from Waterside again.
