We have been camping for 25 years and know what is important to us in a campground, so I’m writing this review in order to help others with the same likes/dislikes.

First off, Stoneyfork campground is exceptionally clean and well cared for. It’s an adorable little campground. I would say 90 percent of it are seasonal sites. And it looked to me like most of them were of older retirement age.

We have older teenagers and they like to have things to do and this is the type of campground that doesn’t have activities or events happening. It’s just a campground. It was ridiculously quiet there. I think it was us and maybe 5 other couples/families there. We were there at the beginning of August, and we mostly went to visit the PA Grand Canyon. It was lovely, but the campground was about 25 minutes away from the canyon. Also when we checked into the campground the kind man told us that if we brought bikes we could ride them there. Maybe I misunderstood because we discovered a bike trail about 20 minutes away. But he wasn’t clear, there was no way anyone could ride there bikes to the canyon.

So this is not the campgrounds fault but because it’s situated in a wide valley with beautiful mountains surrounding it, the wind is just wicked. We had to put everything that was outside away. And pull our awning in, for the 4 out of 5 days that we were there. Again, not their fault, just throwing this out there for people like us that like to be outside and cook, play games, etc.

There is a cute playground. But the basically the one road around the grounds is gravel… so little kids bikes and scooters won’t work well.

Ok… when we’re on vacation Wi-Fi is sometimes important. And it was non existent. AT&T and Verizon did not work there, ( AT&T sometimes had a one bar). So you were relying on the wifi. It was awful. They advertise it, but really shouldn’t. We had to drive about 10 miles to find decent cell service.

This is a cute place for a couple of days. But not quite the place for us.

If you want very peaceful and very quiet then this is the campground for you.
