The reservoir seems to be perpetually drained in the summer, exposing the bear sides of the lake creating quite the ugly vista. Additionally, swimming is unpleasant due to the muddy and steep shore. The outhouses really stink up the joint too, especially if it's over 80 out. Camp host was a stickler when I was there and they force you to pay fees within 30 mins of arrival, very strange.
This campground used to be very nice, but until they refill the reservoir (which will be left to mother nature to sort out so god knows how long it will take) I don't see any point in even stopping for a picnic, there are better places up the river.
