Remote Camping off of Mackenzie Hwy in the Deschutes Forest. Has No Facilities, Not even Water, something that could even be properly remedied by the BLM/US Forest Service but like at too many other sites, is not. However with no cost to stay it is DEFINITELY to be considered, rather than the Cold Springs Camps about 6 miles further down the road which costs $14. per night and while having a management team that regularly patrols the grounds, does not offer free chopped wood, something that would certainly increase the worthiness of the fee and eliminate the need to recklessly and unnecessarily cut down and break small trees and branches to get a camp fire. If camp fires were not allowed the campground would indeed be a breeding ground for motor homes and trailers not needing a fire or high tech campers using only canned fire products, if not empty altogether.....
