There has been a FALSE rumor floating around this place has been sold to an individual, but that is incorrect. This is a public use area owned by the government and it is run by the Oologah US Army Core of Engineers. You can call the Oologah Core of Engineers to confirm what I am saying. The neighbor who lives next door helps open and close the gate. The gate is opened around 8:00am and closed around sunset. The issue has been this time changes throughout the year (longer days in the summer and shorter days in the winter).
