General area is forested and beautiful, and the park itself is pretty. It is convenient to get to the North Rim. The people were friendly, and the park was nice and quiet. However, the back-in sites are WAY too narrow. When we parked our pickup next to our trailer, we had to push the picnic table clear back against the fence, making it impossible to use. The pull-thru spots are much wider, but I requested a pull-thru, and I was told there weren't any available, even though some of them remained vacant during my stay. The tent sites were roomy, too. It looks like the back-in sites may have been bigger at one time, but they seemed to have added more sites, making them all too narrow.
My least favorite thing about this park is the check-out time of 10:00 a.m. In all my years of travel, I have never seen a check-out time earlier than 11:00 a.m. With a check-in time of noon, it just doesn't take 2 hrs. to be ready for the next visitor. For those of us pulling trailers, which take a fair amount of travel prep, especially when our travels are intended for relaxing, the extra hour would have been very helpful.
Lastly, the area is called the Jacob's Lake area, but it is in no way a "lake"! It barely qualifies as a pond. Don't go to it expecting to use a boat or kayak!
