We absolutely loved this cabin. Spent about two days here, but wish we could have stayed longer. Inside the cabin is a guest book with handwritten reviews dating back to ‘04. Honeslty, 99% of them are 5-star reviews.
It’s just a beautiful cabin with amazing fishing, sights, and quietness. There is a little bit of air traffic throughout the day, depending on when you stay, but it honestly wasn’t too bad. There is a pebble beach right outside the trail leading to the cabin, but a sand beach about 50 yards away that’s great for swimming. The trail to the cabin is about 30 yards long. The cabin is small, as the pictures show, but can hold 6 people. There is built in cabinets and shelves for whatever you bring. There is also a stove, but it can only be used for heat inside. It was warm while we were there so we just cracked the windows and didn’t use the stove; it was perfect. The cabin also comes with a broom and dust pan, two oars, plenty of dry wood. Make sure to check if the wood shed is filled before you come out, as some visitors have come out to a light wood supply. Speaking of which, the wood shed (which is right next to the cabin) also comes with an axe meant for slimming down some of the logs provided. There are two trails leading from the wood shed, one to a nearby creek and another to the outhouse. The outhouse wasn’t too bad, had toilet paper supplied, but you should bring some too just to be careful. There have been some visitors in the guest book who have talked about seeing bears at the outlet of the creek, but we didn’t see a single animal when we were there. There is a small fire pit right next to the cabin, as well as a fire pit on the beach.
When you reserve the cabin, you will see that it asks that you leave no trace, so if you do have a fire on the beach or by the cabin, clean up as well as you can. Also, do keep the cabin clean as visitors have before you. Keep the internal wood supply stocked after you leave too.
All in all, this cabin was amazing. Couldn’t find a single review of the place, and rarely any pictures before we came. So, here is my tiny gift to future visitors. Take the flight out, you will fall in love with this cabin.
