Some of the campsites are completely shaded and others are in the sun. Site 3 was very shady. The trails are nice. There is a large swimming area and 2 boat ramps. We went in August and it was very hot and humid throughout the day and night, along with a lot of bugs. Great dark sky views. I definitely recommend the park, but suggest going during a different time of year.
The plantation history could use some updates in their displays.
Park staff were very friendly.
