This state park is absolutely beautiful!
It is nestled in the rolling hills, secluded and away from the hustle and bustle of life. The Lake is absolutely beautiful.
We rented a pontoon boat for four hours, which was an excellent idea. We enjoyed some fishing and cruising around the lake. We visited the middle of September and were surprised and pleased that it wasn't busy at all. We stayed in the rustic campground. It was a bit difficult to find and I would really hate to try to find it at night. The site are marked T but reserved as R. They are the same thing.
Check the site photographs and dimensions very carefully. Many sites are very small and right next to the road. Cheaper firewood
(and beer) can be found if you go back out to the main road and turn right. It's probably a few miles up the road. Alcohol is not permitted in state parks but use common sense... Highly recommend using minnows when fishing and go to the bridge close to the pylons. I look forward to going again with my girlfriend.
