This place was an unexpected gem on our road trip across the country. The architecture of the lodge is amazing. It’s entirely made of Douglas fir logs that had to be salvaged and used quickly after a forest fire. It’s in a beautiful setting in a valley next to a lovely creek. Immaculate, spacious rooms with very comfortable beds. Each room opens to the outside and has its own bath. The hosts, Ruth and Blick Drange are ranchers who were friendly and shared lots of information about raising cattle. It’s a 7 mile drive down gravel roads to get back to the lodge but we Easterners thought it was well worth the drive to get an authentic western experience in a gorgeous venue
