Agates? YES. Bears? YES. This is a must stop if you're visiting the yellowstone river for rockhounding. But I URGE YOU to bring a bear repellant of some sort. We stumbled across a half eaten dear carcass in the bushes while exploring the bank. Remember. No silly rock is worth your life. Like most of the public access points along this river I suggest you bring a kayak so you can reach the more desirable banks. But if you're stuck on one side like we were, well, these photos should tell you the rest.
