Oh wow this is a cool place! The campground is right on Lake Superior and campsites 8 and 10 I think are right on the water. I stayed at 4 which was nice, it was really surprisingly private! Couldn’t really see the road or any other sites which was nice.
I came the first weekend in October and all the sites were first come first serve at that point. I arrived early in the day (about 1 or 2 I think) and there were only a handful of sites available at that time.
It’s pretty quiet, there’s a nice picnic table area looking over the lake and it’s a good, open spot for northern lights if you’re trying to see them. There’s a lot of walkable shoreline and the water is beautiful of course. The Bay Furnace ruins are cool too! Definitely worth walking the two minutes down the road to see. There’s some nice signage explaining what the furnace is and it’s a very pretty albeit small building.
