Our favorite place on the river. Paddle upstream to Hillsborough river state park, about 1.5 miles up river. Tie off there, walk around and snack, and head back downstream. The current is slow, so paddling upstream is easy. If the water is low, or really clear, keep an eye out for giant limestone boulders in the water as you start getting close to Hillsborough river state park. Rocks are cool to see and often there's big ol' plecostomas hanging around on the rocks. IF YOU GO DOWNSTREAM FROM DEAD RIVER, BEWARE! It gets very confusing there and many people have gotten lost and needed rescuing. No joke. Enjoy!
