Sumter Oaks RV Park is promoted on the website as being "friendly, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere." I thinks is only fair to rate the park on the merit of what it is purported to be.

First, friendly. This is probably true if you don't have children but the manager there Marci doesn't like kids and doesn't want them in her park. If you take the time to review the other negative reviews there are all interactions with families and the manager.

Comfortable. It's hard to be comfortable at a place your family isn't welcome or wanted.

Welcoming Atmosphere. Every other guest we interacted with was friendly and complimentary of my kids behavior. The lady working the front desk was very nice and welcoming when we arrived. However, on day 3 when Marci was in our face yelling at us when we didn't move sites quick enough that was a less than welcoming feeling. The maintenance guy who seems to be nice enough standing awkwardly behind her while she did her thing, like some sort of low rent body guard, also didn't add to the welcoming feeling.

Lastly, the park is maintained next to the road but beyond the roads within the park have tons of potholes. Sites are not cleaned between campers; my patio had a lot of leaves and there was trash in my site. The bathhouse is old but a little paint and a good cleaning could probably turn it around.

In summation, don't stay at the park if you have a family. If you're 55+ looking for a cheap park this is the place for you. The manager doesn't care if you're escapees members, about Florida law or anything other than letting you know she's in charge so avoid her.
