The good:
- located in a mostly dry area of Maui
- bathrooms are very clean
- complimentary local fruits and coffee at 7.30am
The bad
- watch out for thieves; the surveillance cameras are just for show and don’t work
- if you’re tenting, don’t expect much sleep. the roosters are a pest on the entire island so it’s not technically a fault of the campground but they will wake you up at 4am; i tried earplugs with minimal success - i recommend noise cancellation headphones if you’re sensitive
- there are only 4 power sockets on the entire premises to cover 30ish tent sites and who knows how many bungalows; most of the time the power sockets are occupied by teens who are glued to their phones while charging them. I’d say a power bank is essential but again beware of thieves who will steal it from you
- the showers are inside cubicles for privacy but no roof so technically outside showers; the hot water is a hit or miss, sometimes you’re lucky, sometimes you’re not
- there is a general store across the street from the campground but you’re separated from it by a highway with no crosswalk; attempt to cross at your peril
