My family, with children 12, 10, 8, are in the area for the summer. We love this little farm! We come here for milk, eggs, and the best wood fired maple syrup. The farmer, Rick, is always friendly and once lets us in the store for eggs after hours. A few days ago we saw a cow with her new calf, both healthy and happy. Their cows graze in evening and night, as with other cows in other Pasture dairy farms we visited. During the day cows are kept cool in the barns. A side note. Rick also practices regenerative farming where the cows graze a section of the pasture in a rotating fashion in order to preserve a health pasture (and milk). This is an unusually hot summer in Litchfield County. Farmers are working extra hard to keep up with the heat. Thank you for keeping the fresh milk coming!
