An easy mountain to summit with nice views throughout! No trees on the trail which is great for getting sun on a cold day but could get toasty in the summer. Views of downtown denver, cacti, mountains, and maybe a rattlesnake if you are lucky.
You can also mountain bike throughout the park. For mountain biking, it is easy terrain but a steep, strenuous ride that will definitely give you a workout. There were sections of mud and ice on each trail I explored in early December (20% of the trails). I would assume that there is mud and ice throughout most of the winter. It was still very rideable on a Mountain Bike and hikers didn't seem to mind it. I would recommend bringing some spikes just in case.
There are multiple parking options around the park boundaries and if full, there is also Street parking available in certain spots.
I will definitely be going back to mountain bike and would highly recommend it to anybody who doesn't mind a little mud and ice.
