Came across this place back in spring and it was not open. (The cold looking picture) Came back this summer for relaxing canal boat ride. Neat place, all private no tax money. It is a story of the importance of the canal to developing the Midwest. It is also a story of the residents of Delphi cleaning up what used to be a literal dumping ground. There is a museum, a village of mid-19th century crafts like barrel making (cooper), an original house moved to the site, and a place to camp if you desire. They even have some rental cabins available. One is quite tiny no electricity or water, but it does come with WiFi! The place is fun and educational, two things I find important. Spread the word, this place is a relaxing hidden gem.
